Snoop Dogg is responding to criticism after performing at a Crypto Ball event during President Donald Trump’s inauguration in January. In an interview on “The Breakfast Club,” Snoop Dogg said he doesn’t care about the negative reactions, arguing his performance had a good purpose. He DJ’d for about 30 minutes, earned money, and built relationships to support inner-city neighborhoods, teaching about finance and cryptocurrency. He stated that it was 30 minutes of his time versus the 30 years he has spent doing positive things for the community. Snoop Dogg clarified that the performance wasn’t an endorsement of President Trump. He emphasized he represents the “Gangster Party” and doesn’t need to explain himself. He also mentioned dealing with negative social media comments by directly messaging (DM) critics. His new album, “Iz it a Crime?”, released on May 15th, is a direct response to criticisms he’s received. Previously, Snoop Dogg had been critical of Donald Trump, portraying him negatively in a 2017 music video. However, in January 2024, Snoop Dogg changed his stance, expressing respect for Trump after Trump pardoned Michael Harris, an associate of the Death Row Records founder. According to Fox News, May 16, 2025.
